Singha durbar: The Ministry of Health and Population has commenced its services from its new location at Singha Durbar. The Ministry’s spokesperson, Dr. Prakash Budhathoki, announced that operations have partially begun at the new premises from today.
According to National News Agency Nepal, services have been set up for the Minister, two Secretaries, as well as the Policy, Planning and Monitoring Division, and the Staff Division at Singha Durbar. The World Health Organization has facilitated the establishment of six ‘prefab blocks’ on the vacant land of the Nepal Army Nursing Corps at Singha Durbar to accommodate the ministry’s operations.
Dr. Budhathoki mentioned that it will take another month to fully relocate all branches of the ministry. This move was necessitated after the ministry building suffered an arson attack on September 9 during a Gen-Z protest, leading to a temporary relocation to the office of the Nepal Health Research Council.
