Bhaktapur: Chairman of the Nepal Workers and Peasant Party (NWPP), Narayan Man Bijukchhe, has said country suffered a huge loss of lives and property in the Gen Z movement occurred after the political parties failed to incorporate young generation. Inaugurating a municipal sports competition in the district on Thursday, Chairman Bijukchhe, however, said it was wrong to vandalize and set on fire significant office buildings, including the Singha Durbar Complex and government offices.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Bijukchhe emphasized that sports not only fosters friendship, education, and culture but also improves physical and mental health of the players. On the occasion, Mayor of Bhaktapur municipality, Sunil Prajapati, highlighted that the week-long sports competition features various games like football, chess, badminton, karate, gymnastic, baghchal, and taekwondo.
More than 80 schools are competing in the games, with nearly 408 students participating in athletics. Earlier, a rally began from Dattatraya, passed through the thoroughfares, and concluded at the Martyrs Memorial Playground.
