Kathmandu: The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has fined Rs 50,000 each for two restaurants for not abiding by the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 BS. The two establishments, Priya Sweets House at Maharajgunj and Eye Caf© Restaurant and Bar located at Tokha, failed to keep their business registration documents, license, and other basic documents at their business sites.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Department conducted inspections and found these violations, leading to the fines. In addition to the fines for the two restaurants, the Department has issued warnings to 14 other business firms following inspections of their services. This action underscores the Department’s efforts to enforce compliance with consumer protection regulations.
