Kathmandu: Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav has extended best wishes to all Nepali sisters and brothers in the country and abroad on the occasion of Christmas Day today. He wished peace, prosperity, and happiness to all.
According to National News Agency Nepal, issuing a message of best wishes, Vice President Yadav emphasized that the festival bears the message of peace, compassion, love, and coexistence. He noted that such festivals help foster humanity, tolerance, and social goodwill.
“Nepal’s constitution has ensured equality, religious freedoms, and social justice. Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious, and multi-cultural country. So various festivals, religions, and cultures have strengthened national identity,” Vice President Yadav stated. He added that these festivals further reflect unity in diversity.
Christmas is celebrated on December 25 every year in commemoration of Christ’s birthday. The festival holds religious, social, and cultural significance.
In recent years, Christmas is being celebrated with enthusiasm in Nepal as well. The Vice President urged everyone to use the festival as an opportunity to strengthen social justice, inclusion, and equality.
The Nepal government has declared a public holiday today.
