CPN (UML) Chair Oli Emphasizes Need for Election-Friendly Environment

Kathmandu: CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli has stressed the need to create an election-friendly atmosphere. Speaking at a party programme today, he highlighted the importance of ensuring a peaceful environment for the upcoming election. Oli stated that the party would participate in the election if such an environment is secured.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Oli emphasized that an election-friendly environment cannot be established amidst fear and insecurity. He asserted that it is the government’s responsibility to address security challenges, especially with the election scheduled for March 5.

The former Prime Minister also mentioned his attendance at a recent meeting convened by President Ramchandra Paudel. During the meeting, Oli clarified that while the party supports the election, it opposes any regressive moves. He further argued against seeking clarifications from the then Prime Minister and Home Ministers regarding the security actions taken on September 8, noting that the security forces acted based on situational assessments to protect public property and ensure self-defense.
