Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress has called on those who are inactive and those who have quit the party for various reasons to return to the party fold. The Nepali Congress Central Working Committee meeting chaired by party president Gagan Thapa made this call today.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the meeting expressed gratitude to the Election Commission for recognizing the decisions of the Nepali Congress and updating the party as per the constitution, prevailing laws, and the party statute. The meeting emphasized the importance of unity, understanding, and cooperation among all party supporters within the country and abroad, urging them to actively participate in the upcoming March 5 elections.
The central working committee extended thanks to the party’s immediate past president Sher Bahadur Deuba and other leaders, appreciating their long-standing contributions to the party. The committee also expressed its confidence in benefiting from their continued guidance in the future.
Party spokesperson Dev Raj Chalise stated that the meeting decided against forming any unnatural alliances or engaging in power-centric agreements with other parties. He emphasized that the Special General Convention of the party has initiated a new chapter focused on unity within the party.
