Nepali Communist Party Finalizes HoR Candidates in Sudurpaschim Province


Kathmandu: The Nepali Communist Party has announced its candidates for the majority of constituencies in Sudurpaschim Province for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5. The party has confirmed candidates in all but a few constituencies within the province, as per Janak Buda, the party’s province secretary.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Janak Buda revealed that Ramlal Dagaura Tharu will contest from constituency no 1 in Kailali district, while Birman Chaudhary and Hari Chaudhary have been selected for constituencies no 3 and no 4, respectively, in the same district. In Kanchanpur district, the party will field Bina Magar from constituency no 1, Lal Bahadur Khadka from constituency no 2, and Man Bahadur Sunar from constituency no 3.



In Achham district, Dr. Bhim Bahadur Rawal has been confirmed for constituency no 1, and Sharat Singh Bhandari for constituency no 2, as informed by Buda. Trilochan Bhatta, who previously served as the Chief Minister in Sudurpaschim Province, is set to contest from Doti district.



Buda further mentioned that the party is nearing finalization of candidates such as Prakash Bahadur Shah in Bajura district, Mansingh Mal in Dadheldhura, Laxman Dutta Joshi in Darchula, Parmananda Bhatta in Baitadi, and Min Bahadur Kunwar in Bajhang district. Candidates for constituencies 2 and 5 in Kailali district will be announced shortly, with Nanda Bahadur Saud and Prem Bahadur Ale likely to receive tickets for these constituencies.



Meanwhile, other political parties, including Nepali Congress and CPN (UML), have submitted the names of their prospective candidates to their central offices. However, they have yet to finalize their candidates for the province’s various constituencies. The deadline for candidate nomination, as per the election schedule approved by the Election Commission of Nepal, is January 20.
