Dhading: The Press Council Nepal has announced its decision to award the ‘Press Council Award’ to newspapers that have been published continuously for 50 years. This decision was made during a board meeting held at Salyantar in Dhading district, as per a press release issued by the Council’s senior administrative officer and spokesperson, Deepak Khanal.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the meeting also resolved to revise the award distribution procedure to ensure transparency and effectiveness. Additionally, the board reviewed the Council’s programs conducted so far in the current fiscal year, assessed its progress, discussed the election code of conduct, and addressed contemporary journalism issues. The media has been urged to adhere strictly to the election code of conduct to ensure that the upcoming House of Representatives election on March 5 is conducted in a free, impartial, transparent, and calm environment.
