Harka Sampang Stresses Conservation and Utilization of Natural Resources

Kathmandu: Chairperson of the Shram Sanskriti Party, Harka Sampang Rai, emphasized the necessity for provisions ensuring public access to natural resources during the first session of the House of Representatives (HoR) today following the March 5 elections. He highlighted that natural resources should be used for national prosperity while ensuring their proper conservation.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the leader called on everyone to contribute to preventing corruption and establishing good governance. He expressed that treaties undermining national sovereignty and dignity should be discarded. Additionally, he proposed mobilizing the Nepali Army for border protection and advocated for a directly elected executive, with his party supporting such a system.

He demanded an investigation into incidents of provocation and suppression that occurred on September 8-9, insisting that those responsible be brought to justice. He also urged an inquiry into the property ownership of all politicians and public officials.

Furthermore, he proposed linking education with production, suggesting ideas such as ‘one local level: one industry’ and ‘one household: one employment,’ alongside reviving closed industries and establishing new ones. He highlighted the urgent need for effective service delivery in key sectors such as peace and security, education, health, and drinking water.

He advised the government to reconsider its decision to scrap student unions and to review new standards for old-age allowances. ‘Landless people should be properly managed rather than being subjected to displacement pressures,’ he asserted.
