Kathmandu: The 20th session of the National Assembly (NA), the upper house of the Federal Parliament, convened today. NA Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal emphasized the Assembly’s established image as a mature and coordinating body, expressing confidence that this reputation will continue.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Dahal highlighted the increasing responsibility of the parliament, especially in the context of a one-party government in Nepal. He announced preparations for an orientation program for newly-elected upper house members, aiming to enhance parliamentary practices.
During today’s meeting, Chairperson Dahal read a letter from President Ramchandra Paudel regarding the session’s summoning. The meeting is also set to schedule elections for the vacant positions of Vice Chairperson and Presidents of thematic committees within the NA.
