UML Chair Oli to Remain in Hospital for Further Treatment

Kathmandu: Communist Party of Nepal (UML) Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will continue his stay in the hospital for medical treatment following his recent release from police custody.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Oli was in custody for an investigation related to the Gen Z movement incident, based on a report from a high-level commission. He had been hospitalized since his arrest and remained in custody for 13 days.

Chairman Oli expressed that the criminal charges filed against him by the government were prejudiced and vindictive, leading to his unlawful detention. However, his release was secured as there was no basis or evidence to continue the case, as determined by the Supreme Court’s verdict.

After being freed, Oli extended his gratitude to those who supported him during his detention, especially those who voiced their support through social media platforms. His arrest occurred on March 28 in Gundu, Bhaktapur, following the government’s decision to act on the Commission’s report.
