Kathmandu: The newly elected Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly, Lila Kumari Bhandari, has announced her decision to step down from her party responsibilities. This move comes as she commits to serving with impartiality and neutrality in her new role.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Bhandari, who was elected from the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), had been a central member of the party. Her election as Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly, the upper house of the Federal Parliament, was unanimous and took place on April 6.
Bhandari communicated her decision through a statement issued today, emphasizing her dedication to remaining unbiased and fair in her duties as Vice Chairperson. Her decision marks a significant step towards ensuring neutrality in her legislative role.
