Beni:Vehicular movement on the Beni-Darbang road, which connects three local levels of the western belt of Myagdi with Beni bazaar, has resumed today.
According to National News Agency RSS, the road had been obstructed since October 18 due to a dry landslide at Phaparkhet, located at the border of Beni municipality-4 and Mangala rural municipality-2. The Infrastructure Development Office in Myagdi managed to clear the landslide debris, allowing for the temporary resumption of traffic.
Raju Pandey, a representative of Mangala Construction, which is responsible for clearing the landslide debris, stated that while the road is open for now to accommodate the increased passenger flow during the Dashain festival, further work is needed for a long-term solution. The 24-kilometer Beni-Darbang road is crucial as it serves as a lifeline, connecting Mangala, Malika, and Dhaulagiri rural municipalities with Beni.
