Karnali Chief Minister Highlights Infrastructure Developments Since Republic Transition

Srinagar:Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Mangal Bahadur Shahi, emphasized the significant progress in infrastructure development in Karnali since Nepal became a federal republic. He noted that access to roads, electricity, and communication services has improved in the region’s villages.

According to National News Agency RSS, Chief Minister Shahi made these remarks during a program at Suryodaya Secondary School in Srinagar, Adanchuli Rural Municipality. He reflected on the past challenges faced by the people of Karnali, such as difficulties in transporting basic goods like rice and salt.

During his address, Shahi shared personal anecdotes from 1984 when he attended the school. He recalled how residents had to travel to distant areas such as Kolti and Martadi in Bajura to obtain rice, carrying heavy loads themselves. He highlighted that current road networks and electricity availability exemplify the region’s transformation.

Shahi also remembered the lack of electricity during his student days, which forced children to study by pinewood light. He urged the younger generation to appreciate these achievements, noting improvements in social respect and rights, allowing all castes and communities to live with dignity.
