AFU to Host Agricultural Exhibition and Farmers Fair from December 14 to 18.


Chitwan: An Agricultural Exhibition and Farmers Fair is set to be organized under the aegis of the Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) from December 14 to 18. Dr. Rishiram Kattel, the Coordinator of the Fair Organizing Committee and Director of the AFU Research and Publicity Directorate, made this announcement at a news conference today.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the event will be held in the premises of the Agriculture Faculty at the university. This marks the second time AFU is hosting the exhibition cum fair, with the first event having been organized five years ago. The primary aim of the exhibition and fair is to enhance the knowledge, skills, and capacity of farmers with the inclusion of 135 stalls dedicated to various aspects of agriculture.

The event will cover a wide range of topics, including agriculture technology, innovation, and research. New technologies necessary for farmers will be exhibited, along with discussions on the technology, skills, and knowledge adopted by farm
ers. Additionally, the event will feature policy dialogues on agriculture, interactions between agriculture entrepreneurs and stakeholders on transforming agriculture, and panel discussions on sustainable animal husbandry, veterinary services, and managing human-wildlife conflict.

Dr. Kattel noted that more than 10,000 farmers are expected to benefit from the exhibition and fair. He emphasized the significance of the event as a milestone for fostering discussions among farmers, students, and agriculture researchers, as well as for addressing existing challenges within the country’s agriculture sector.
