Alternative Route Offers Relief Amid Muglin-Narayangadh Road Blockage

Narayangadh: Landslides near Tuinkhola have obstructed two-way traffic on the Muglin-Narayangadh road, leaving thousands of travelers stranded as they attempt to head home for the Dashain festival.

According to National News Agency Nepal, some alternatives to the Muglin-Narayangadh road are available and being utilized. One such route is the path to Dedgaun via Kharenitar in Tanahun, a project under construction by the Gandaki Provincial Government aimed at connecting Mustang to the Tarai. This road is currently suitable for small and light vehicles. Prakash Chandra Bhattarai, who recently traveled this route, explained that it can be accessed from Damauli-Khairenitar via Bhimad-Manpur to Dedgaun-Bulingtar-Dhodeni-Gaindakot.

The journey from Muglin to Khairenitar covers 70 kilometers. The route includes a seven-kilometer blacktop road from Khairenitar to Bhimad, a 35-kilometer dirt road from Bhimad to Manpur, a 40-kilometer blacktopped road from Manpur to Dedgaun, and finally, a 70-kilometer stretch from Dedgaun to Narayangadh.

Vijay Rana, a local from Dharampani, noted that motorcyclists have the option to travel from Damauli to the Muglin-Narayangadh road section. This involves crossing a suspension bridge that passes through Keshavtar, Sukhaura, Huslang, and Dharampani.
