Rangpur: Bangladesh Army provided cost-free treatments and medicines to some 300 eye patients at a free eye care and medicine distribution camp held at Shitol Diagnostic Centre in the metropolis today. The 66 Infantry Division of Bangladesh Army organised the free eye care and medicine distribution camp in association with the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Rangpur and Rangpur Medical College, said a press release this afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, five eye specialists, including three from CMH, Rangpur and two from Rangpur Medical College, along with nurses, technologists, and assistants, checked the eye patients and provided all necessary treatments and medicines as per prescriptions. A number of the eye patients were selected for conducting their eye surgeries at the Combined Military Hospital, Rangpur free of cost in the very near future.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 66 Infantry Division and Rangpur Area Commander of Bangladesh Army, Major General Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, attended the free eye care and medicine distribution camp as the chief guest. High ranking military and civil officials were also present at the function, the release added.
