Dhaka: Bangladesh Bank (BB) has relaxed the policy on foreign travel for bank officials, according to a circular issued by the central bank today. The new policy allows bank officials and employees to travel abroad for training, seminars, workshops, or study tours funded by banks, provided they obtain permission from authorities concerned at their banks.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the directive is part of an initiative to enhance the skills and knowledge of bank employees by exposing them to international best practices and experiences. The circular specifies that the new travel policy is effective immediately, ensuring that bank personnel can take advantage of these opportunities without delay.
The circular also mentions that this directive is issued under the authority granted by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991. This regulatory framework empowers the central bank to implement policies that support the growth and development of the banking sector in Bangladesh.
