Bangkok: Bhaivabi Sapkota has won three medals, including one gold medal, in the 8th Heroes International Taekwondo Championship organized in Thailand. More than 4,000 athletes from 27 countries participated in the two-day championship that commenced on August 9. The 10-year-old athlete from Nepal clinched the gold medal in the speed kick category by defeating competitors from the Philippines and Thailand.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Bhaivabi reached the semifinals in the Kyorugi category but lost to a competitor from Thailand, securing a bronze medal. Additionally, she earned a bronze medal in the Poomsae category after winning two rounds. The young athlete’s performance has been recognized as a significant achievement for Nepal on an international stage.
