Taksar: A museum has been established in Taksar of Bhojpur Municipality-12, aiming to preserve ancient and traditional materials. The new museum, named the ‘Bhojpur Museum,’ has been set up in the ward office building and is open to the public.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the museum has been established by an organization called Navodaya. Kishore Kumar Tamrakar, the chairman of Navodaya, stated that the objective of the museum is to preserve traditional materials for future generations. He noted that ancient coins from Taksar, including those of one and two paisa denominations, have been displayed in the museum. Tamrakar also mentioned plans for the museum’s long-term management and operation.
The museum showcases various traditional items such as ploughs, wooden wares, traditional lanterns, clay pots, and cassettes. Yadu Suwal, the secretary of Navodaya, highlighted that these artifacts were collected from local sources to reflect the traditional lifestyle of the area.
State Minister Sirjana Rai from the Chief Minister’s Office in Koshi Province expressed confidence that the museum would help preserve the culture and traditions of Taksar, acknowledging its historical significance. Social activist Chandra Kumar Udas emphasized that the museum aims to preserve the history of Taksar, which dates back to the reign of King Girvana Yuddha Shah in 1872 BS.
