Bhotekoshi Flash Flood and Rainfall Cause Highway Blockages


Kathmandu: Different highways throughout the country have been blocked due to Bhotekoshi flash flood as well as incessant rainfall. According to Police Headquarters, Muglin-Galchhi section, Muglin-Narayangadh sections under Prithvi highway, Mechi highway, Rukum Paschim Bheri Corridor, Pasang Lhamu, and Martyr highway of Rolpa have been obstructed.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the Galchhi-Baireni section along Prithvi highway has come into operation one-way from Thursday evening, said Spokesperson at the Department of Roads, Shuva Raj Neupane. Efforts are underway to remove seven hundred meters of flash flood debris at Malekhu-Galaudi section.



The Department has indicated that vehicular movement would be restored at Prithvi highway after the removal of flash flood debris. Activities are also underway to clear the debris at Jyangkhola of Benighat Rorang rural municipality-10, Benighat Rorang rural municipality-2 in Dhading, and at Baireni of Galchhi rural municipality-6.
