Satkhira: Acting Chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Tarique Rahman today announced that his party, if elected to power in the upcoming elections, would form a government that includes those oppressed over the past 17 years, ensuring the rights of people from various faiths.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Tarique Rahman made these remarks while addressing a virtual workshop on building the state structure based on the party’s 31-point demands at Tufan Convention Centre in the district town. The event was organized by the BNP Central Training Affairs Committee.
Rahman emphasized that the 31-point demands were not solely BNP’s manifesto but were prepared in consultation with the party’s political alliance, which comprises various parties. He reiterated that BNP is a party for all its members and activists across the country, not just for individuals like Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman or Khaleda Zia.
He also urged party leaders and activists to spread the BNP’s 31-point demands to the public before the forthcoming general election. In addition, Rahman promised to construct a railway line in Satkhira district and provide financial support cards to women in families, enabling them to support their children’s education and healthcare if BNP is elected to power.
The event saw the presence of several BNP leaders, including BNP Chairperson’s Adviser and former Secretary Md Ismail Zabiullah, Central Publication Secretary and former Lawmaker Habibul Islam Habib, Training Affairs Secretary ABM Mosharraf Hossain, and Central Members Dr. Shahidul Alam and Kazi Alauddin.
