BNP Vice Chairman Dudu Asserts 17-Year Fight Against Fascism to Restore Democracy

Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu emphasized that the BNP has been engaged in a 17-year struggle against fascism to restore democracy, freedom, and human rights in Bangladesh. Dudu made these statements while addressing the press at the Shilpakala Academy before attending an organizational meeting of the district BNP.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dudu reiterated the party’s commitment to steering Bangladesh back onto a democratic path, emphasizing the importance of human rights. He highlighted that the BNP is conducting meetings nationwide as part of its broader effort to establish democracy and uphold human rights.

Dudu further stated that any coalition formed by anti-independence forces and fascist allies would fail to bolster democracy without the support of the people. His remarks set the stage for a district unit BNP meeting, which he later attended. The meeting also saw the participation of key figures, including Principal Asadul Habib Dulu, the organizing secretary of BNP’s Rangpur division unit, joint organizing secretaries Abdul Khalek and Aminul Islam, central BNP members, and Mirza Faisal Amin, the general secretary of Thakurgaon district BNP.
