Dhaka: Bangla Academy has announced the names of 10 eminent writers for ‘Bangla Academy Literary Award 2024’.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the academy’s public relations department announced the names of the awardees in ten categories for the year 2024 in a media statement today.
The awardees include playwright Syed Jamil Ahmed for folklore, essayist Salimullah Khan for essays, Masud Khan for poetry, Selim Morshed for fiction, Shubhashish Sinha for drama and playwriting, Faruk Nawaz for children’s literature, GH Habib for translation, Mohammad Shahjahan Mia for research, Rezaur Rahman for science, and Mohammad Hanan for the Liberation War.
The Bangla Academy Literary Award has been conferred regularly since 1960, five years after the academy’s establishment in 1955.
