Kathmandu: Buddha Air, a private airline in Nepal, is set to resume its direct flight service to Kolkata, India.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Buddha Air initially launched the Kathmandu-Kolkata-Kathmandu air service in April 2019. However, the service was suspended in December 2019 due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The airline has now announced its plans to resume this service starting October 2.
Buddha Air will operate flights to Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, India, three times a week on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The flights are scheduled to depart from Kathmandu at 7:00 am and from Kolkata at 9:20 am local time. The service will be operated by an ATR-72 aircraft, with an approximate flight duration of one hour and 35 minutes.
The airline has set the one-way fare for passengers at Rs 13,353. This route marks Buddha Air’s second international destination, with the airline also operating flights to Varanasi, India, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
