Kathmandu: Chairperson of the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal, Upendra Yadav, has demanded stern action against those involved in the violent activities that occurred at Tinkune, Kathmandu.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Chair Yadav made this demand while speaking at a program organized by the Raphat Media Club, Bhaktapur on Monday. He emphasized, “The government must bring to book those involved in criminal and violent activities.”
Yadav highlighted that every citizen has a right to express their views, but noted that the March 28 demonstration, which led to murder, arson, and vandalism in the name of restoring the monarchy, was anti-democratic. He mentioned that the unitary system had already been abolished with the establishment of the federal democratic republic and urged political parties to correct themselves to prevent any resurgence of monarchical elements.
He further argued that the political parties ruling after the establishment of the federal democratic republic were not meeting the people’s expectations. “The federal government itself has obstructed the implementation of federalism,” he stated.
