Chairperson Yadav Calls for Rewriting of Constitution

Rajbiraj: Chairperson of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), Upendra Yadav, has advocated for rewriting the Constitution following necessary amendments, citing existing flaws in the fundamental law of the land. Speaking at a swearing-in and office assuming event for the newly-elected district committee in Rajbiraj, Saptari, Yadav emphasized the need to strengthen the federal democratic republic by revising the decade-old Constitution.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Yadav highlighted that the current Constitution has failed to fully address the concerns of various communities, including the Madhesi, Tharu, Muslim, Dalit, indigenous nationalities, and other marginalized groups. He underscored the necessity of constitutional amendments to adequately resolve these issues and ensure inclusivity.

Yadav also pointed out the importance of a strong government to tackle corruption, uphold good governance, and build public trust. He criticized the existing provincial structure, describing it as ineffective and lacking in authority, thus calling for a reevaluation of its powers and responsibilities.
