Chhatra Dal Demands Trial of Banned Chhatra League Leaders


Dhaka: Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal today held a ‘March for Justice’ demanding the trial of the banned organization Bangladesh Chhatra League and the allies of the ousted Awami League government. The procession began from Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) and ended at the Central Shaheed Minar after parading Shabagh crossing and TSC of Dhaka University. Leaders and activists from its various units joined the march.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the march was led by Chhatra Dal Central President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir, with participants chanting slogans against Chhatra League and the Awami League. Chhatra Dal senior Vice-President Abu Hasan Yeahia and Organizing Secretary Amanullah Aman, among others, spoke on the occasion.



During the rally, Rakibul Islam Rakib called for the banning of ‘underground politics’ on campuses and urged the interim government to take legal action against the members of Chhatra League. Rakib expressed disappointment at the lack of progress in holding their trial.



Nasir Uddin Nasir demanded the immediate arrest of Chhatra League’s top leaders. He stated that their program is part of the demand for holding the trial of the Chhatra League, emphasizing that their top leaders are still at large, and urged authorities to take immediate action.
