Lalitpur: Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister, Prakash Man Singh, emphasized the necessity of collective efforts to enhance the quality of education during the 29th International Conference of the Nepal English Language Teachers’ Association, which commenced today in Lalitpur.
According to National News Agency Nepal, DPM Singh highlighted the importance of curriculum development, teacher training, and timely policy formulation. He noted the positive changes in the education sector compared to the past and emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment for pursuing quality education in the country.
The Deputy Prime Minister called on the Association to contribute to positive changes in educational policy reform, particularly in relation to English language policy. He advocated for collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to ensure ongoing improvements in curriculum, teaching materials, and teaching methods.
Singh appreciated the Association’s role in advancing English language education in Nepal since its establishment in 1992. He urged the Association to take on an additional role in enhancing English language teaching and learning in the remote areas of Nepal. The conference is scheduled to run until March 1.
