Kachankabal: CPN (Maoist Centre) chair and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has declared that his party will contest the upcoming general election without forming an alliance. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the ‘Maoists with People: Tarai-Madhesh Awakening Campaign,’ Dahal emphasized that the party will prioritize connecting with the public over concerns about government stability.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Dahal expressed during the event that the CPN (Maoist Centre) aims to engage directly with citizens. He stated, “We have taken a pledge to move forward by cooperating with the people rather than joining or toppling the government.” This remark signifies a shift from the party’s previous collaborations with the CPN (UML) and the Nepali Congress, which Dahal suggested had distanced them from the populace.
He highlighted that the newly launched awareness campaign is designed to strengthen relationships with all ethnic and minority groups. Dahal committed to introspecting and reviewing past shortcomings as the party endeavors to reconnect with its base.
Ranjeet Tamang, the party’s Jhapa in-charge, announced that the campaign will traverse the region, concluding in Kanchanpur on March 20.
