Dhaka: The Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has apprehended two individuals suspected of being part of a syndicate illegally hoarding and selling textbooks meant for free distribution to students in primary and secondary schools.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individuals have been identified as Sirajul Islam, 55, and M Delwar Hossain, 56. The operation, which took place in Banglabazar, led to the seizure of two trucks containing 10,000 textbooks. Muhammad Talebur Rahman, the Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations Division of the DMP, informed BSS of the seizure and arrests. Legal proceedings are currently underway concerning the incident.
