Death Toll in Sunsari Road Accident Reaches Four, Identities of Three Victims Confirmed


Sunsari: The death toll in a tragic road accident in Sunsari has reached four.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the identities of three of the deceased have been confirmed. They are Shankar Mandal, 35, from Mahadewa rural municipality in Saptari, Laxman Sada, 70, from Koshi rural municipality-6, and Ashok Yadav, 40, from Biratnagar-10 in Morang. Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Sunsari, Yograj Khatiwada, provided these details. The identity of a woman, estimated to be between 45-50 years old, remains unknown, he added.



The accident occurred at Bokraha Narsingh rural municipality-3 in Sunsari district when a bus (Me 1 Kha 1799) traveling to Diktel from Kakadbhitta in Jhapa district and a micro bus (Province 2-01-001 Ja 0047) heading in the opposite direction collided this morning.



The injured victims are receiving treatment at Global Cardio and Neuro Hospital, Bhokraha, as well as Golden Hospital, Biratnagar. Law enforcement has detained the bus driver, Gopal Adhikari from Arjundhara Municipality-1 in Jhapa, for necessary action.
