Kathmandu: Devotees are flocking to the Pachali Bhairav Jatra in Teku, which was revived last year after four and a half decades. On the day of Ashwin Shukla Chaturthi, the main day of the fair started with the erecting of the Linga of Pachali Bhairava (Yosingh).

According to National News Agency Nepal, Balkrishna Maharjan, Chairman of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-12 and the convener of Pachali Bhairav Jatra Guthi Management Committee, informed that the Jatra will be marked in the inner city of Kathmandu after the worship and adoration this evening.

Starting from the Teku Temple, the Jatra will proceed to the Hanumandhoka Durbar Square. After visiting the Kumari Ghar in Hanumandhoka Durbar Square, the Kumari will be taken to Jaisideval, Jyabahal, and Brahmatol.

On the day of Ashwin Shukla Chaturthi, there is the tradition of going on a pilgrimage from Teku to Hanumandhoka through Brahmatol, Jyabahal, Jaisideval, and Lagan.

Malla King Jayaram Malla is believed to have started this tradition. He is worshipped during this fair as Thaku Juju. Chairman Maharjan informed that Shri Pachali Bhairav (Aju Yo Sin) Guthi is managing this Jatra.
