Dhaka: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has clarified that reports circulating in some media outlets regarding its Director General (DG) Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui’s visit to India have misrepresented the nature of the trip, stating that “it is not a secret matter.”
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BGB expressed concern over the portrayal of the visit, indicating that the news has the potential to damage the force’s image and sow confusion among the public. The BGB made this statement via their verified Facebook page, responding to the media coverage on Friday.
The BGB has pointed out that the specific news articles, titled ‘Secrecy over BGB chief’s India visit, storm of criticism on social media,’ which were published by some media outlets in the country, have attracted the attention of the force. The BGB emphasized that there was no secrecy surrounding the DG’s visit to India, and the media reports have been misleading.
