Kathmandu: A delegation led by the World Bank Country Director for Nepal, David Sislen, paid a courtesy visit to Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Bikram Timilsina, at his office today. The meeting focused on discussions surrounding the ‘Nepal Digital Transformation Project,’ which is set to be implemented with the support of the World Bank. The project aims to expand access to the development of the country’s information technology sector, data management, digital transformation, and governance reforms.
According to National News Agency Nepal, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present at the meeting. Minister Timilsina expressed his gratitude for the continuous support provided by the World Bank towards Nepal’s socio-economic development. He emphasized that the Nepal Digital Transformation Project would be executed swiftly.
Minister Timilsina noted that result-oriented work in infrastructure development and civic service delivery has already commenced following the formation of the new government. He highlighted the government’s focus on resolving project issues differently compared to past practices. Furthermore, he mentioned that the progress of projects implemented in collaboration with the World Bank will become apparent soon.
