Document Verification Process of Law Ministry Goes Online

Dhaka: The Law Ministry is now authenticating 36 types of documents online. “The Law Ministry used to authenticate 36 types of documents manually that caused huge sufferings to the people. To end the sufferings, this (authentication) process is being completely online since December 13, which is saving people’s money and time,” said Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs had previously issued a notification indicating that the process for authenticating documents used abroad would now be conducted through the apostille method (online). This transition aims to streamline the process and alleviate the challenges faced by individuals requiring document verification.

For documents intended for use abroad, applicants must complete a process by accessing the link www.mygov.bd and using the apostille method (online). This must be done after authenticating the documents by a notary public or a magistrate if necessary. Subsequently, hard copies of all documents are required to be submitted to Room No. 1112, Government Transport Pool Building.
