DSP Yadav Dies After Being Knocked Down by Jeep in Siraha.


Siraha: An Deputy Inspector of Police (DSP) in the Armed Police Force (APF) died after he was hit by a Scorpio jeep in Siraha district today morning. The jeep, which had no registered number, struck 48-year-old Laxman Prasad Yadav while he was patrolling in the inner road of Kachanari of Badiyarpatti-1 in the district. The tragic incident occurred around 3 am in a location close to the Indian border, according to the District Police Office, Siraha.

According to National News Agency Nepal, DSP Yadav was injured in the accident and was immediately taken to Ram Kumar Umaprasad Memorial Provincial Hospital in Lahan. However, doctors declared him dead upon admission, as confirmed by the police. DSP Yadav had been deployed at the Badahari Base Camp of the APF, as stated by DSP and Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Siraha, Birendra Paswan.

The Scorpio jeep reportedly sped towards India after hitting the police officer, and a search is currently underway for the vehicle, DSP Paswan informed. Chief of APF’
s Battalion no 7’s Chief and SP Naresh Bhandari shared that the incident occurred after the jeep encountered a joint patrol team of Nepal Police and APF. It is alleged that the jeep was transporting alcohol, but this information remains unverified since the vehicle has not yet been confiscated, SP Bhandari added.
