Kathmandu: On the occasion of Kaag Tihar festival today, artist Ramesh Dulal ‘Kage’ held the ’22nd Crow Conference’ in front of the Narayanhiti Palace Museum gate in the capital.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the event was organized jointly by Top Rajdhani Rodhi and Green City Hospital Basundhara. Dulal showcased his unique talent by cawing and calling numerous crows to the venue. The gathering of crows began as soon as he replicated the sound of a crow, marking the start of the program at a quarter to six in the morning.
Dulal possesses a rare ability to imitate the sounds of 173 types of animals and birds, including the crow. His skills extend beyond animal sounds, as he can also orally produce tunes of various musical instruments such as the madal, sahanai, sarangi, piano, drum set, murchunga, and guitar.
“It has been 22 years since I started holding the ‘crow conference’ on the occasion of Kaag Tihar. Crows are considered the messengers of Yamaraj. This time, however, I have organized this conference purely for cultural purposes,” Dulal stated.
The audience at the program expressed their appreciation for Dulal’s initiative, which seeks to preserve the tradition of celebrating Kaag Tihar both religiously and culturally while raising public awareness. Attendees also acknowledged Dulal’s multifaceted talents.
