Kathmandu: The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has issued a statement urging the immediate return of goods stolen during the Gen-Z demonstrations on September 8 and 9. The incidents involved arson and looting, resulting in the loss of various items including television sets, computer sets, laptops, printers, photocopy machines, microwave ovens, hard disks, scanners, cameras, iPads, mobiles, heaters, and fans.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the ministry is actively working to identify those involved in the vandalism and theft through the review of CCTV footage. The ministry has appealed to anyone who has taken or received such materials from its premises to return them to the ministry or the nearest police office. It has warned of legal action as per the prevailing law against those who fail to comply.
Similarly, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development reported the theft of laptops, CCTV cameras, computers, desktops, and batteries installed in motorcycles. Efforts are also underway to identify the perpetrators through CCTV footage. The Ministry has similarly urged those responsible to return the stolen items to the ministry or the nearest police office.
