Energy Minister Khadka and MCC Deputy Vice-President Wingle Discuss Energy Development Collaboration


Kathmandu: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, and Deputy Vice-President of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), John Wingle, held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss progress and future cooperation in Nepal’s energy sector.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Khadka expressed gratitude for MCC’s support in the development of Nepal’s energy sector and praised the ongoing collaboration for the MCC project. He highlighted that the initiation of the MCC project would lead to the construction of a high-quality transmission line, which would help Nepal achieve its energy development goals.



Minister Khadka emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations to ensure the effective implementation of the MCC project. In response, Deputy Vice-President Wingle urged the Energy Minister to address issues related to land acquisition and forest area clearance, which are vital for the project’s advancement.



The meeting was attended by Energy Secretary Suresh Acharya, Joint-Secretary of the Ministry, and other high-ranking officials, underscoring the significance of the discussions for Nepal’s energy future.
