Dhaka: The Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) have launched mobile courts in collaboration with RAJUK and district and upazila administrations to bolster fire safety measures across the nation. This initiative aims to address increasing fire accidents, particularly during the winter season, by ensuring that commercial and industrial establishments adhere to fire safety regulations.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 37 mobile courts have been conducted throughout the country in January, with the highest number of operations taking place in the Dhaka division. These efforts have resulted in the collection of fines amounting to Taka 41.65 lakh from establishments found lacking adequate fire safety measures. The FSCD has been working in conjunction with district and upazila administrations, as well as the RAJUK magistrate in Dhaka, due to the absence of its own magistrate.
The FSCD is committed to increasing fire awareness and prevention through regular activities, including fire drills, mass communication efforts, training sessions, and the distribution of informational leaflets. Fire Service inspectors are also actively engaged in inspecting establishments and issuing notices to ensure compliance with fire safety standards.
