Flights Resume at Resunga Airport After Four-Month Suspension

Gulmi:Air service has resumed at Resunga airport in Gulmi district after being suspended for around four months due to adverse weather conditions.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the flights at the airport were initially disrupted in the first week of June. The suspension was necessary due to thick fog and strong wind pressure, as stated by Suman Thapa, Station Chief of Resunga airport.

With improved weather conditions, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has restarted services, with a new schedule in place. An aircraft from NAC, carrying 13 passengers from Kathmandu, successfully landed at Resunga airport and returned to Kathmandu with two passengers. The revised schedule now includes thrice-weekly flights, addressing the needs of elderly persons, patients, and others requiring travel to Kathmandu for essential reasons.

NAC utilizes an 18-seater Twin Otter aircraft for the Kathmandu-Gulmi and Gulmi-Kathmandu routes. The flights are scheduled to depart from Kathmandu to Resunga at 715 am and from Resunga to Kathmandu at 815 am on Sundays and Tuesdays. On Fridays, the flight from Kathmandu departs at 620 am, returning from Resunga at 720 am.

The airfare has been set at Rs 10,710 from Kathmandu to Gulmi and Rs 10,510 from Gulmi to Kathmandu.
