Setibeni Bazaar:Flooding caused by the Kaligandaki River and Seti Khola after days of continuous rainfall has inundated Setibeni Bazaar, affecting 26 houses.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the bazaar is located at the intersection of Syangja, Parbat, and Gulmi districts. The flooding has damaged 17 houses on the Galyang Municipality-5 side in Syangja and nine houses on the Parbat side. Flood-affected residents have been relocated to Shaligram Secondary School in Parbat for shelter.
Although no human casualties have been reported, livestock losses have occurred due to the floodwaters. The inundation has disrupted daily life in the area, and the sacred ‘Shaligram Shila’ landmark has been submerged. Additionally, the Kaligandaki ‘A’ Hydropower Project has opened all its sluice gates and ceased power generation as a result of the flooding.
Furthermore, the motorable bridge connecting Syangja and Gulmi at Mirmi has been washed away, compounding the impact of the floods in the region.
