Dhaka: The joint force has arrested a fugitive convict involved in two cases from Rampur union of Chandpur Sadar upazila today. The arrest took place during a coordinated operation by the joint force team.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the convict, identified as Aftab Ahmed, aged 45, is a resident of Devpur Panchbaria village in Rampur Union of the upazila. On receiving a tip-off, the joint force team conducted a drive at noon and successfully apprehended Aftab from the area.
Lieutenant Jabid Hasan, the operation officer of Chandpur Army Camp, confirmed the arrest. Aftab had previously been sentenced by the court to 6 and 12 years in two separate cases. After his arrest, he was handed over to the Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station for further legal proceedings.
