General Secretary Sharma Underscores Political Transformation as Per Gen-Z Spirit

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has reiterated the urgency of political transformation as per the sentiment of Gen-Z. After inspecting party offices of Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) in the district that were torched and destroyed during the Gen-Z protest on September 9, he claimed that arson and vandalism on public properties, including the Singha Durbar complex and private property across the country, was against the demand and aspiration of the Gen-Z demonstration.

According to National News Agency Nepal, former General Secretary Krishna Sitaula argued that political parties should collaborate around democratic principles by maintaining unity within parties in the current situation of the country. He also expressed the belief that the mastermind and those involved in the incident of looting, violence, and arson across the country against the Gen-Z demand would be exposed.

Likewise, Prem Giri of CPN (UML) and former lawmaker Hari Charan Shiwakoti enquired the NC leaders about the party’s further strategy and programmes. Property worth more than one million of the NC party office in Jhapa perished in arson during the Gen-Z protest.
