Kathmandu: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has announced that the government is receptive to the demands of Gen Z leaders. During a meeting held at his office in Singha Durbar, Minister Aryal assured the youth representatives that the current government, which is supported by the Gen Z movement, will not act in a manner that contradicts the principles of Gen Z. He emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the youth, asserting, “We’re fully aware of the demands of the youths. So, ministry and its subordinates work in full tandem. Genuine demands are met at any cost,” he reiterated.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the meeting was also attended by notable figures such as Police Chief Dan Bahadur Karki, Secretary at the Home Ministry Rameshwor Dangal, Attorney General Sabita Bhandari, and officials from the peace and security division. During the discussion, Gen Z leaders highlighted the issue of protestors being criminalized. They pointed out that several youths who participated in the Gen Z protests across the country have been arrested and are currently facing legal charges.
In response to these concerns, Minister Aryal assured the attendees that the government is taking a comprehensive approach. He urged the youth to cooperate with law enforcement authorities, provided they have not engaged in any unlawful activities.
