Lalitpur: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has affirmed that the current government is committed to holding the House of Representatives elections on the scheduled date, while also focusing on effective governance to eradicate corruption.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Kharel made these remarks during the inauguration of a week-long religious event at Krishna Mandir in Imadol, Lalitpur, organized by the Shrikrishna Pranami District Service Committee Lalitpur. He called upon citizens to elect the right representatives in the upcoming elections, emphasizing the government’s dedication to this democratic process.
Kharel stated, “The present government is built on the spirit of the Gen Z movement. Our primary objective is to successfully carry out the elections,” underscoring the administration’s focus on engaging the younger generation in national governance.
In addition to election-related matters, Minister Kharel highlighted the importance of religion in society, reflecting on its role in promoting social cohesion and moral values.
Laxmi Maharjan, Deputy Mayor of Mahalaxmi Municipality, also addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of adhering to good deeds and participating in social service, aligning with the event’s religious and community-focused theme.
