Kathmandu: A meeting of the House of Representatives has been postponed until 1:30 pm tomorrow. The federal parliament secretariat shared this information, issuing a notice today. The meeting, originally scheduled for 11:00 am, had commenced at 1:00 pm. However, it was postponed for half an hour after opposition lawmakers initiated protests, demanding the resignation of the Home Minister and the formation of a high-level probe committee due to alleged irregularities concerning visit visas.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the inability of the parliament to reconvene led the secretariat to reschedule the meeting for 3:30 pm by issuing another notice. Despite Speaker Devraj Ghimire’s efforts to reach a consensus with chief whips of the major political parties, no agreement was reached. Consequently, the Speaker decided to postpone the meeting once again until Thursday.
