Indian Foreign Secretary Misri Returns Home After Official Visit to Nepal


Kathmandu: Foreign Secretary of India Vikram Misri returned home today after completing a two-day official visit to Nepal from August 17 to 18. His visit was facilitated by an invitation from Nepal’s Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai.



According to National News Agency Nepal, during his visit, Misri engaged in courtesy calls with Nepal’s President, Prime Minister, and Minister for Foreign Affairs. A significant aspect of his visit was the delivery of a formal invitation from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Nepalese Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli, inviting him for an official visit to India at a mutually convenient date.



Earlier today, extensive discussions took place between the Foreign Secretaries of both nations. The talks focused on areas such as physical connectivity, energy cooperation, digital connectivity, and various aspects of development cooperation. These discussions aimed to maximize potential outcomes for the upcoming visit of Nepal’s Prime Minister to India, as stated in a press release issued at the conclusion of the visit.
