Interim Govt to Vacate Office Post-Election, Says Supradip Chakma

Khagrachari: CHT Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma today announced that the current interim government will vacate office immediately after the upcoming election. He made this statement during a view-exchange meeting following the inauguration of a building extension in the Sadar Upazila Parishad.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Chakma emphasized that the government did not assume power permanently. He highlighted that his own appointment as a diplomat from the hill regions reflects the country’s commitment to diversity. He stated, “I’ve been doing basic work, diplomacy for a long time. The government is very generous, it has made a person like me from the hills as a diplomat. This has been possible because the people of this country believe in diversity.”

Chakma further elaborated on the importance of maintaining diversity, mentioning that both the Bengali people and those from the hills contribute to it. He urged for the preservation of this diversity.

The meeting was attended by Khagrachari Deputy Commissioner ABM Iftekharul Islam Khandaker, Superintendent of Police Arefin Jewel, Zila Parishad Chairman Jiruna Tripura, and Khagrachari District BNP General Secretary MN Abshar.

Following the view-exchange meeting, a District Law and Order Committee meeting was conducted at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. As the chief guest, Chakma encouraged all attendees to collaborate in sustaining the district’s law and order situation.
